Our wonderful Repair Cafe was created and launched by local resident, Pauline Howland, and her formidable team of skilled volunteers in August 2023. They have held their fantastic service every month at the Flackwell Heath Community Centre, repairing all sorts of broken items including small electrical items, textiles, beloved toys, bicycles, small furniture items and even knife sharpening!
All items are repaired for free but donations are welcomed. Now approaching its two year anniversary, the cafe continues to thrive and has become a buzzing social hub for many residents as well as a heavily used and relied upon local business. Incredibly, they have raised thousands of pounds in donations to date and have kindly paid these forward in the way of donations to Juniper School, Carrington School and the Community Pantry.
Why not join them next time and try using this fantastic local service? Don’t throw things away – repair and recycle! The Repair Cafe takes place on the first Saturday of each month between 10am-12pm.
