Every year, billions of items that could be repaired end up in landfill. We would like to try and reduce the impact of this within our village – every little helps! Under this new initiative, spearheaded by local resident and FHRA member Pauline Howland, we are hoping to set up a monthly drop-in cafe on a Saturday morning, where for a small donation, residents can have certain items repaired by a team of volunteer repairers.
To get this off the ground, we are looking for volunteer repairers for the following:
- Textiles (sewing / mending etc)
- Garden equipment
- Wooden items
- Toys
- Electronics (including PAT testers)
- Bikes
- Tool & knife sharpening
- Anything else that might turn up!
It need not be a regular commitment, but if you can give a couple of hours a month (or every few months), please get in touch with Pauline on 07876 744188.
